It’s one thing to be trendy when you have a business in this industry, but know when to draw the line. I remember one woman in Avon who actually wore a suit and a hat out each day to drum up new business.

I talked to a lot of other reps and I didn’t find one who didn’t think that she was a little over the top. My best piece of advice… go to the mall and see what the stores are featuring in the windows. Store windows are always a good point of reference. You can either walk straight in and buy the outfit, or spend the day looking for pieces that match.

Simply buying the entire outfit ruined all the fun. I always made a day of it!
